The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) sits at the centre of the Lloyd’s insurance market, supporting managing agents and members across one of the world’s most complex and highly regulated insurance ecosystems. Their digital platform needed to serve a broad, specialist audience while meeting strict requirements around performance, security, accessibility, and reliability.
Hut Eight delivered a full end-to-end redesign and rebuild of the LMA website, encompassing extensive discovery and planning, UX/UI design, bespoke development, and a rigorous testing and security programme. The project required careful preparation to accommodate complex user journeys, member-only content, and future scalability — all while maintaining stability for a mission-critical industry platform.

Shaping and Building the Platform
Design Approach
The design process focused on clarity, authority, and usability for a diverse professional audience. We structured the site around clear user journeys for members, committees, and external stakeholders, ensuring information could be accessed quickly and confidently.
A clean, modern visual language was paired with strong typography and consistent layouts to reflect the LMA’s position within the Lloyd’s market. Accessibility considerations were embedded throughout the design to ensure the platform is usable across devices, abilities, and contexts.

The platform was engineered as a fully bespoke solution, designed to support complex requirements around security, performance, and long-term maintainability. We implemented a robust architecture with controlled access, secure data handling, and optimised performance across environments.
Security was a core focus throughout delivery. This included comprehensive pre-launch penetration testing, remediation of identified risks, and post-launch verification testing to validate real-world behaviour.
